Peter Greene is the author of "The Glasśigh of Ganymede Trilogy," with book 1, Light of Ganymede now available on Amazon. Book two, Flame of Ganymede is due out in June 2025, and following soon is the final book, Storm of Ganymede. He has also written "The Adventures of Jonathan Moore Series" which includes Warship Poseidon, Castle of Fire, and Paladin's War. All three books are available on eBook, as paperback and as audio books (narrated by Chris Humphreys).
Bio: Peter Greene was born in New York and spent his young life on Long Island and later, moved to Illinois in the Chicago area. In college, he won an Illinois Art Council grant for his touring play "Watermeyer". Graduating from Illinois State University with a BA in Theatre Education, he moved to California and had some success co-writing screenplays, having one optioned by 20th Century Fox. During over 40 years of working in the business world, he was a technical writer, a technical salesperson for supply-chain software, and a founding director of PETsMART, Inc. He continued to write short stories and screenplays during this time.
In 2010 Greene self-published the young adult sea-faring adventure "Warship Poseidon," the first book in the "Adventures of Jonathan Moore" series, which won the Adventure Writers Competition's Clive Cussler Grandmaster Award and the Action-Adventure Book of the Year from the Independent Author Network. He followed with book two, "Castle of Fire", which won an Independent Author Network Finalist Award for Action/Adventure. The third book of the series, "Paladin's War" followed a year later and won the Chanticleer International Book Award for Historical Fiction. The entire Jonathan Moore series then won the Chanticleer Dante Rossetti Award for Young Adult Fiction Series.
The entire "Adventures of Jonathan Moore" series is now available on Audible/Amazon as audiobooks, all narrated by award-winning actor and author Chris Humphreys.
Greene’s new science fiction book, "Light of Ganymede" has been released and is available on Amazon. The book has won First Place Finalist in the Chanticleer Cygnus Awards, is a Reader Views Shelf Unbound Top 100 Book of the Year and is a Book Excellence Award Science Fiction Finalist. Greene continues to finish the Glasśigh of Ganymede Trilogy.
"I was thinking of a series that my daughter would like to read, as her ten-year-old self was not enamored with any series that didn't have a strong female character even though the Jonathan Moore Series does indeed qualify with Miss Delain Dowdeswell. Regardless of that fact, I had an idea that might suffice. I explained to her my story of a girl in high school who thought she was human but was really from Ganymede, one of Jupiter's moons. Her weird uncle takes her back to the world of her birth and she basically takes over the entire planet through a revolution.
"What is her name?" she asked. I responded that since she was an alien with only one eye, so her uncle had to re-configure her face so she would look human, and have two eyes. One was obviously made of glass, and the kids in school called her 'Glass Eye' to tease her (sympathy card played). "That's cool. Okay, write that," she instructed.
In the process of putting the story together, Light of Ganymede became much longer and more serious than I ever intended, and though fun, it weighs some serious issues that echo today on Earth. I dropped the whole one-eye-thing, and kept the sound of her name, Glasśigh (glah-SIGH), meaning, in Áhthan, everyone's love."
Now retired from the business world, Greene is writing full-time, fishing and napping, and performs with the band 'Parthenia Apartment', a thankfully rare and lightly attended event.
